Hello Oreo lovers, meet your new favorite dessert. These oreo cookie balls are love for children. You simply crush up Oreos (we like using a food processor but the old Ziploc bag and rolling pin works), mix them up with some butter, and then dunk those balls into melted chocolate.
These colorful Oreo balls are crunchy chocolate balls that are made by grinding Oreo biscuits, butter and melted chocolate. It is a tasty and fun homemade chocolate treat; this recipe is very easy and economical to make in children’s birthday parties and other occasions as a dessert. In your house, you can even store it pots, and keep your children away from the factory-made candies that are blocks of refined sugar and has zero nutrients.

Oreo cookie balls are always a favorite treat at parties, especially during the holidays. You really can’t go wrong with this no-bake treat, especially during the hectic holiday season! They are almost too easy to make and for sure too easy to eat. While making those colorful Oreo balls, I do it with dark chocolate, as the intense flavor is rather luxurious, and as many times I have served it at house parties. I have broadly served it to the adults as well, and no one realizes that I used such simple ingredients.

How do you make this Oreo balls?

The first step is to make your filling, which consists of a package of Oreo biscuits crushed into crumbs and a chunk of butter. The two ingredients get mixed to form a rich and fudgy filling. Chill your balls, then dip them in chocolate and decorate with your favorite sprinkles or toppings.
There are many flavors of topping available, like strawberry and vanilla, which you can always experiment with white chocolate and jam. You can also mix some Bournvita if you have, to make it even healthier.

How long do Oreo Cookie Balls Last?

Please make sure that you put the Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If you leave them normally on the table, then the chocolate will get soft. You need to make sure they are chilled until ready to serve. You can keep those Oreo balls for up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator. Moreover, you can also freeze the Oreo balls for up to 2 months. If you are going to accumulate the Oreo balls, make sure you put wax paper in between the balls.

Equipment

  • Mixer Blender

Ingredients

  • 30 Oreo cookies
  • 2 tsp Melted butter
  • 1 Dark chocolate melting
  • 2 tbsp Choco syrup
  • 2 tbsp Milk

For Decorating

  • melted chocolate, sprinkles.

Instructions

  • Use a mixer grinder to crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs.

  • Add all crushed cookies to a medium bowl. Add melted butter and milk to that. Stir until evenly combined.

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using your hand make small balls from the mixture and transfer to the tray. Freeze until slightly hardened, about 30 minutes.

  • Melt the dark chocolate using hot water.

  • Dip frozen balls in melted chocolate until coated and return to the tray. Sprinkle your favorite colorful toppings on that. Freeze until chocolate hardens, about 15 minutes.

  • No bake Oreo balls are ready to serve.

Notes

1. To easily coat cookie balls with melted chocolate, add cookie balls, in batches, to bowl of melted chocolate. Then, use 2 forks to roll cookie balls in chocolate until evenly coated. Remove cookie balls with forks and allow excess chocolate to drip back into bowl before placing cookie balls on prepared baking sheet.
2. You can obtain the Oreo ball squares up to a day in advance. Cover them loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate until you’re ready to dip them in chocolate.
3. Make sure your butter is soft. If it is too cold, it won’t blend into the Oreo crumbs easily.
4. I choose to finish my Oreo balls with colorful sprinkles. Other great options are more cookie crumbs, toffee bits, chopped nuts or coconut.
5. You can use your choice chocolate but i recommended Amul dark chocolate. They melt smooth and thin and are so easy to work with, but they taste like real chocolate. If you opt for chocolate chips, you’ll need to add a bit of shortening to thin out your chocolate to make it more suitable for dipping.
