Swimming pools are opening everywhere, lunchrooms firing up in full force, and all things hot and summery hitting off now. So we thought we could celebrate with a week of summer cocktail recipes here on the blog. Today we are presenting an authentic recipe for three colorful mojitos. However, for many people, the Mojito describes the perfect rum cocktail. The origins of the drink can be traced back to Cuba and the 16th-century Cuban cocktail El Draque, named for Sir Francis Drake. Suitably, nearly all of the ingredients in the Mojito are natural to Cuba. Rum, lime, mint, and sugar (derived from cane juice) are mixed with soda water to create a refreshing classic cocktail.
But here in this recipe, we didn’t use any rum, instead of that; we are using a sprite and soda. We make this the recipe for one serving, but you can modify it and makes per your need. It’s a very refreshing drink for hot summer days. Any cold drinks can be substituted instead of the soda water but the taste is different.
Particularly with fall of the fresh mint overflowing in gardens and farmers markets everywhere this time of year, mojitos are the ideal summer cocktail to whip up for after-work happy hours. Mojito is an alcohol-based drink that has mint leaves, lemon juice, and sugar. A mojito that does not have alcohol in it is a mocktail drink. So, what is a mocktail? Mocktail is a nonalcoholic drink that consists of a mixture of fruit juices, syrups or soft drinks. Mocktails like fruit punches can be consumed by all those who enjoy flavorful drinks without alcohol.
How to make non alcoholic Mojito drinks?
Preparation of Non-alchoholic mojito includes combining lime juice, flavoured syrup and mint leaves in a serving glass. With the bits of help of a muddler or spoon, this mixture is gently crushed to lightly beat the mint leaves so that the essential oils are cleared. Chilled aerated drink like sprite is slowly poured into the glass and stirred to mix. This mocktail drink can be garnished with a lemon wheel and few mint leaves. Add some crushed ice and you are ready to beat the heat with a glass of refreshing mojito.
