When we got some time, we use it toward skincare or hair care.  Also, we overlook sparing a few minutes to take rest and let the body relax. The entire day goes about running around, meeting errands and in the end, we rarely do anything for our feet. This is the body part we often ignored.

But did you know that your feet can describe a lot about you? We have seen women who make all the effort to be well dressed and well-groomed, but then when it comes to their feet, they completely ignore them because of which they are either sore or with chapped heels. But you cannot underestimate that the spruce feet are the mark of an independent and confident woman.

But unfortunately, you don’t have to use time and money to get beautiful feet. It’s a pity. Hence, the easiest option to get a pedicure is doing it at home. Today you will amaze to see how you can do a pedicure at your home with some natural resources.

When it comes to grooming your feet, there are different methods. There is nothing quite as paradisiacal as a good pedicure. You can do it at home but it really is never the same. However, if you still want the following list of items such as Warm Water, pumice stone, nail brush, file, nail cleaner, Nail Scrubber, moisturizing cream, nail cutter, acetone, herbal shampoo, lemon slices, honey, and clean towels.

Additionally, you just have to have a few ingredients. These are honey, lemon, olive oil, almond paste, herbal shampoo, salt, etc.

Step by step guide to do a pedicure at home:

Prepare Your Nails

In the beginning, you have to clean your nails properly. If you already wearing any nail polish, remove the old nail polish with a cotton ball/pad using a nail paint remover.

Now take some warm water in a tub to cover your ankles. If you want it plain and simple, you can just add shampoo and a few crystals of rock salt into the liquid.

Add half a cup of salt to the water. This will soften and soothe inflammations, reduce any kind of pain, and reduce roughness. It also acts as an exfoliator. You can also add a slice of lemon to this water.

You can also add a few drops of essential oil if you have any at home. These usually calm the nerves and give your feet the spa treatment they deserve. Now soak your feet in it for 10 minutes.

Shape Your Nails

Take out your feet and dry your feet with a towel. Then, clip your nails using a nail cutter, but make sure you cut across straight. Don’t cut corners too deep, or you will end up with painful ingrown nails.

Now, use a nail filer to shape the nail to the desired shape. Do the filing with enough force to reshape the nail, but be gentle enough not to weaken them.

Clear The Dead Skin

Once your feet are ready. Now let’s make the cuticle cream for messaging. You can store this for a long time. For this cream, you will need

  •  3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp. glycerine or Honey

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a bowl.
  2. Add the coconut oil and honey or glycerin to this.
  3. Your cuticle cream is ready. Allow it to cool and store in a bottle.

Now rub a little cuticle cream on the base of your toenails. While the cream softens the dead skin, scrub your skin using a pumice stone. Instead of a pumice stone, you can also use a foot file.

This will eliminate uneven, dry, and dead skin. If you do not remove this from time to time, the skin will harden, causing cracks and infection. But be firm and gentle. Your goal is to remove all the dead skin, but you don’t want to hurt yourself.

Scrub Your Feet

Once this is done, remove the cuticle cream. Cuticles are the delicate skin at the bottom of your nail where the fingernail cartilage and skin meet. Hence, nevermore trim your cuticles.

With the help of the cuticle remover cream, remove the cuticles. This removal of the cuticle helps your nail grow and promotes healthy nails. Now prepare the natural scrubber for your feet. Here lemon is needed for a mild bleaching effect.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp Almond Powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. olive oil

Directions

  1. Mix the almond powder and the sugar together.
  2. Add the lemon juice and honey to the mixture, and mix well.
  3. Add the olive oil and use.

Almond paste is important for deep conditioning and moisturization to your skin. Massage this for 15 minutes. Quickly wipe your feet with a towel.

Moisturizing

Now, your feet are fresh and clean, but you need to moisturize them for that ultimate feeling of revival. Any heavy moisturizer should do. Also, you can make natural moisturizers.

For this you will need peppermint oil and lemon, mix these together will create a great moisturizer. Knead your feet, ankles, and calf muscles for about 10 minutes.

You can also use a mixture of almond oil and olive oil to massage your feet for moisturizing. A teaspoon of separately mixed with a few drops of your favorite essential oil serves as a great foot massager.

Not only that regular massages excite your nerve endings and enhance blood circulation.

Nourish Your Nails

Once you are fulfilled with all the above steps, you can polish your nails with the nail colour of your favourite colour. However, if at all they have turned yellow due to regular use of nail color, please let them breathe. Furthermore, you can try these quick tips to get rid of this yellow nail.

Rub lemon slices on the toenails daily and allow the juice to soak in. You will find them coming back to their natural healthy color in some time.You can either apply normal nail polish or keep it as it is.

Tips

  • If you don’t have time to go through the entire scrubbing process regularly, you can scrub your feet with the pumice stone twice a week, while you are having a bath, to clear off the dead skin.
  • Make sure you give your nails some breathing time by keeping them free of nail polish from time to time.
  • If you notice any infection or blackening on your nails, consult your doctor immediately.

Practicing time to get a pedicure naturally is a refreshing experience. Besides, your feet look pretty when you keep your nails trimmed, painted, and eliminate dry patch. Moreover, the advantages to a foot massage help to relieve tension, reduce stress and increase blood circulation.
